So which pump is the pump for me??

So which pump is the pump for me??
Ref: 49

Waterblock designs have evolved since the dawn of PC Watercooling. So too have radiator designs. Couple this with the shift in CPU design from small exposed die to large die underneath an IHS as seen in ALL the current generation processors, and we find that the performance difference from one pump to another reduces...

"With everyone using IHS capped CPU's nowadays, pumping power has less of an influence than it used to. From what I'm seeing, both in theory and actual testing (which are aligning nicely), you can pick almost any single pump with 2-5mH2O of pressure head, and 8-15lpm of flow-rate, and the temperature differences at the CPU at the end of the day will not vary by more than 0.3C between them. We are now in an era of relative flow-agnosticity with respect to pump choice. On bare-die CPU's, low-flow, small tubing, weak pumped w/c systems lost out. On modern IHS capped CPU's, the differences are now small enough to be counted as being insignificant by many." - Cathar over at XS

In answer to the question "which pump is for me?" the correct answer these days is that as long as it shifts between 8 & 15lpm then it's a case of "whatever floats yer boat..."

Suffice to say, every pump listed falls within this bracket of pumping performance.

Laing DDC 3.2 - 18w (3/8")
Ref: 46

Wires straight to a molex.... no relay required, and features RPM monitoring.

This Danger Den DDC pump is one of the best 12V pumps on the market. It will run off of a standard computer power supply.

The pump electronically commutated wet rotor design results in only one moving part in the entire pump. A spherically suspended rotor/impeller rests on top of a ceramic ball and is driven magnetically, thereby eliminating the need for a shaft motor connection. The pump lasts longer, consumes less power and offers superior performance characteristics when compared to other pumps in its class.

To use with 1/2" tubing, you will need to order 2x 3/8" to 1/2" adapters, available HERE, or, use the Alphacool Plexitop for the DDC, which also improves performance, and can be found HERE
